On behalf of the Friars and staff here at St. Francis I wish all of you a blessed Thanksgiving.
The feast of Thanksgiving reminds all of us of the importance of moments of gratitude; the value of seeing what is good and right in our world.
Let our Thanksgiving be a celebration where we view our world not just in terms of the material things that we have been gifted, but also in the good and meaningful actions that we can do for others, and that have been done for us.
May we be aware of God’s blessings, especially in times of challenge and difficulty. Indeed this past year has been, in so many ways, a year of challenges.
In a few weeks we will celebrate Christmas. We will celebrate Emmanuel, “God is with us”. Let us not forget that even in the most challenging of times God is indeed with us.
While speaking of Thanksgiving, I want to thank all who have generously donated, to date, to the Annual Appeal. We are a little over half way toward our goal of $200,000. If you have not had a chance to make a donation or pledge, there is still plenty of time to do so.
Once again, thank you, and best wishes for a Blessed Thanksgiving!
Fr. John O’Connor, O.F.M.
