We help two shelters in the community
Hilda Barg Shelter
The Hilda M. Barg Homeless Prevention Center is located in Prince William County. The center, run by Northern VA Family Service, is a 30-bed, short-term shelter helping homeless families and single adults develop individual plans that promote self-sufficient living. We volunteer at the Hilda Barg Shelter twice a year- once in the summer and once in the winter. Information regarding the Hilda Barg shelter is provided during both seasons.

The Bill Mehr Drop-In Shelter
Open since 2002, the Bill Mehr Drop-In Shelter provides the chronically homeless a place where their basic physical needs are met. This includes food, showers, clothing, tents, blankets, and more. St. Francis Parish supports the drop-in shelter year round. October to March we provide dinner and from April to September we provide breakfast. Sign-up sheets are always available up in the vestibule or you can sign up online here. For more information contact Francia Salguero ([email protected]) or at (703) 221-6344.
