Called & Gifted

Called & Gifted Workshop Registration

Called and Gifted will not be offered at St. Francis of Assisi during the 2018-2019 church year. Contact St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception parish in Fredericksburg to register for a Called and Gifted workshop [email protected]

Step One: Called & Gifted Introductory Workshop

Those who take the Called & Gifted workshop will take the Catholic Spiritual Gifts Inventory, the first gifts inventory designed especially for Catholics.

At a Called & Gifted Workshop, you will learn:

  • The role of every Catholic and of the local parish in the mission of the Church to the world.
  • The critical role of charisms in the life and service of other lay Catholics and in the life of the parish or Christian community.
  • The signs and characteristics of 24 common charisms.
  • How discerning and using your charisms can change your life and the lives of others.

Step Two:  One Hour Personal Gifts Interview

The Catherine of Siena Institute has trained and experienced gift interviewers who will help you look at your inventory results, listen to your experiences of being used by God, and help you recognize patterns in your life that may indicate the presence of a charism. He or she will also help you choose one charism to discern and help you determine how you can best use that gift in the context of your life. Your interviewer will also seek to answer any personal questions about specific charisms or discernment that you may have.  You will need to have your copy of the Catholic Spiritual Gifts Inventory and your answer sheet available.

Please contact Bill Sydow ([email protected]) to schedule an interview.

Step Three:  Discernment in Depth

This five session series contributes to a lifelong discernment process not only of your charisms, but also of discernment about what God and the Holy Spirit are leading you to do. Discerning your charisms can help you make life decisions, especially in times of transition. This can include job changes, family changes, or when you feel a pull or are being asked to get involved as a volunteer.  At the end of this discernment program, we’re going to discuss how this program along with many others at St Francis, is transforming our community and how it is leading both individuals and our community toward our call to foster discipleship and to share the good news of the gospel in the world around us.
